Regular readers may have noticed that I have removed the Google AdSense ads from my blog. While I did remove some Google Ads from my blog, I didn’t remove them completely. I did some quick tests and decided to pull the ads from the main blog page but kept them on individual posts. I figure the people who are more likely to click on ads, are those that hit this blog from links to specific posts or from organic search results. With enough traffic, this change would have allowed me to make more money by displaying less ads.

What I have found since I removed them from the main blog page is that my earnings did not go down. Unfortunately, it didn’t go up either. What I do gain is a less cluttered front page which is what I want. I do not want to have a blog full of distracting ads because I want to keep a more personal feeling for this blog.

I am happy to report that the Google earnings are enough to cover the monthly hosting bill of this blog. Granted, the monthly fee is not that bad ($4.95) over at Blue Fur.
