Nissan GT-R Confirmed VQ37HRTT
ramblings January 25th, 2007One of the most hyped and anticipated cars from a Japanese automaker has finally been unveiled. No, there is no V8, there is no 600+hp, in fact there is not even 500hp. Ricers everywhere are up in arms over this bastardization of the Skyline. Every car forum that I have visited has at least one thread where users ricers are complaining about a car they would never be able to afford anyway.
As the engine name suggests, the Nissan GT-R will sport a 3.7L powerplant loaded with twin turbos producing 450hp and 360 ft. lbs of torque. Nissan has left room for the aftermarket tuning market to squeeze more power out of the VQ37HRTT.
I personally cannot wait until these start hitting the roads and hopefully will result in more competition from the other Japanese automakers. Lexus has their LF-A prototype, Toyota is working a new Supra, perhaps there are some other announcements coming out this year.
