The New York Post is reporting that Microsoft is looking to acquire Yahoo again. Each time the rivalry between Google and Microsoft heats up, the Yahoo acquisition news rears its ugly head. Is there any truth to this rumor? While Yahoo is reported to be worth $50B and although it would really help Microsoft in the battle for online dominance, I really don’t see this deal panning out.

After Google snapped up DoubleClick, Microsoft acquired Right Media but not before complaining to regulators about the unprecedented power the partnership will now have. Does buying Yahoo now make sense for Microsoft? Or is this just the rumor mill churning out “news”. Perhaps this is Microsoft’s way to get back at Google for invading its office software business?
