I have now completed my first quarter blogging. Most blogs are abandoned before this point, so thats a good sign! I started blogging in late January as a way to organize and share my experiences on making an internet income. I did not want my blog to be another “how to get rich with the internet” style of blog because those get old quick, but instead I wanted it to just be a glimpse into exactly what I do, and of course what I do wrong. At the moment, there are no text or banner ads. I have introduced some affiliate ads but they are for content and not for making money with my blog (I wouldn’t complain if they brought in revenue).

Numbers as of April 1, 2007:

PageRank: Haven’t Received One Yet
Alexa Ranking: 138,990
Technorati Ranking: 140,894

If you have been reading my blog regularly, you’ll remember when I posted up the February Recap, I set some goals for March. I was aiming for 100,000 on Alexa, and a PR2 if Google did an update. I missed my mark on both goals, but I did make some progress. As I will be doing each month, I have set some new goals to accomplish by May 1, 2007:

PageRank: 3
Alexa Ranking: 80,000
Technorati Ranking: 100,000

I think these goals are realistic and will strive towards them. If you don’t set goals for yourself when you start your new website or blog, you’ll be wandering aimlessly. Set some goals, and target dates and shoot for them. Goals can be set monthly like I do here, or they can be set with any time interval. The most important factor when setting up goals is a target date. Without a target date, your goal is nothing but wishful thinking.
