Got My First AuctionAds Payment
making money May 1st, 2007Today, I saw that AuctionAds has sent me my April earnings via PayPal. This is great. For those of you who are familiar with Google’s payment system for their AdSense publishers you will know that it seems like ages before you get your first payment. In addition to the regular payment as shown on the reports, I also recieved a bonus payment which was revenue that was not showing up on the AuctionAds reports due to the eBay US data tracking outage.
Try AuctionAds on your blog or website, and see how it works for you. Remember though, give it some time before making any decisions. Buyers that click on your ads are tagged for up to 30 days and during that time, when they complete an auction you will make money. You will also make 2% of the earnings of everybody that signs up to AuctionAds through your referral link which is built into the bottom of each AuctionAds banner.

I run auction ads on my site too, getting a ton of click throughs, not so many conversions.
But as you say, tagged for 30 days.
Thanks

Just curious, how much money are you making off your blog each month, and what are your best breadrunners?
Gearfire has 300 subscribers, but I think that you are proably still making more money off HTG :P

That “bonus” payment was interesting. I couldn’t figure out looking at my AAs reports where the extra 10% came from. 10% sounds like a lot until I quantify that as $3. So yeah, we pulled $33 from AuctionAds this past month (plus earnings from the previous partial month).
AAs is tough though because it’s so hit or miss. One Friday we made $15 and I was like, “well here we go, AAs is finally taking off.” Then nothing for days, then $5, then nothing again for days, and so on.
For April we had ~3800 clicks on ~288,500 impressions. Sadly this was with an eCPM of ~$0.09. So pretty stinky. But heck, it’s more than we would have made with that space blank. Thank goodness for AdSense!
We’re going to keep with AAs for now, but if something better comes along I won’t miss it too much.

I got a bonus payment of about $3 as well and pulled in $28 with an eCPM of $0.50 for AA. Not too bad, I’m installing and testing a new ad server and once thats complete I will be increasing the AA deployment to see if revenue goes up.
