Looks like Google has already updated all my indexed pages to my new permalink format. By using a 301 redirect, I was able to let the Googlebot know that I had moved the pages to a new location permanently. As a result, Google has changed up all my links and I lost zero traffic because of the change. Of course, my blog doesn’t get a heavy traffic load but every little bit counts.

If you are considering making any changes to your permalinks, or if you already have and did not think about any negative side effects, I suggest you take a quick look at my post on changing your permalinks and making any changes necessary to your .htaccess file.
