Andy over at Marketing Pilgrim has received confirmation from Google’s Nick Fox that Google Plans AdWords Algorithm Change. Nick Fox is the Senior Business Product Manager for Ad Quality (Wow, what a long job title). Google’s AdWords blog has more information on the Quality Score Updates.

This change has been expected for quite some time now, ever since Google started beta testing the Quality Score column with select AdWords customers. Google is anticipating a wave of complaints and that is why they are going to prepare by releasing the Quality Score column to all AdWords customers first. This new data should be available starting tommorow according to Andy’s post. If you haven’t read my 5 Easy Ways to Optimize PPC Campaigns post yet, now would be a good time as it covers several ways to improve your Quality Score.

For those of you who think you’ve got a good handle on everything, I would still advise you to monitor your AdWords campaign with more attention than normal over the next little while to ensure the algorithm changes aren’t negatively impacting you. I know I am going to be checking even more diligently than ever before.
