Google’s periodical PageRank update has begun. While PageRank is constantly updated internally and used as part of the ever secretive algorithm on their search engine, the external PageRank, such as the one you see on the Google Toolbar are only updated 3 - 4 times each year. The last Google PageRank update was on December 29th, 2006 and many people have been anticipating this latest update.

This Google PageRank update is good news for many bloggers and website owners looking to make money on the internet including myself. While I do have plans to make money from this blog, I have not done so because my blog had no value. I wanted to improve three measurements before I began running ads: My Alexa Ranking, Technorati Ranking and Google PageRank. To increase these three measurements, I just used one strategy: Build value by writing content.

On this latest PageRank update which started yesterday and is still making its way through all the data centers, it looks like this blog is going to get a PR4. In my March status update I had aimed to build up this blog to a PR3 by this update, so I’m quite happy with what I am seeing. I feel I have built enough content to begin monetizing the traffic, all I need is for this PageRank update to finish and I can start applying (and qualifying) for more ad networks.
