After Google purchased Feedburner, some suggested that the premium services would be available for free. They were right! Current customers of the two premium services, MyBrand and Stats Pro will not be billed anymore for use of the services. For those of you who are not current users of these services, you will need to login to your Feedburner account and upgrade to these features.

These are two really great services that I will start using. If you’re not a total stats junkie like I am, you’ll want to use the MyBrand feature on Feedburner. What this feature allows you to do is keep control of the feed URL.

Normally without this MyBrand feature, my feed URL is: http://feeds.feedburner.com/HateTheGrind but I can now restore it to anything I like, back on my own domain.

Those who have FeedBurner PRO accounts will not be billed for June and forward. But those who do not have PRO account will need to upgrade to them, even though there is no fee. You can turn FeedBurner Stats PRO on by signing in to your account, navigating to the Analyze tab and heading to the FeedBurner Stats PRO section. Click the “Item Views” checkbox to activate these PRO features. You can turn MyBrand on by signing in to your account, click the “My Account” link in the upper left-hand corner, and then click “MyBrand”.

I have enabled the Stats Pro feature on my feedburner account. I’ve also sent in the request to enable MyBrand for my account (I wonder why they didn’t automate this feature). The Feedburner site became a little slow, I wonder if its all the people finding out about these free features all rushing to log in to turn them on? :)
