Privacy has always been a touchy matter when it comes to the internet. The privacy policy and practices of large corporations are scruntinized by privacy advocates and watchdogs on a daily basis. New technology from companies such as Google are dissected for any breaches of privacy (Remember when gmail launched?).

What about social media websites? There doesn’t seem to be as much attention in the news regarding sites like Friendster, MySpace, and Facebook. On these sites, users share lots of information about themselves that they normally wouldn’t share on other sites. The nature of these sites, could allow someone with malicious intent to harvest all of the stored data to aid in crimes such as identity theft.

I came across this video that highlights some interesting facts about Facebook that asks the question, “Does what happen on Facebook, Stay in Facebook?”

If you ever needed another reason not to spend to much time on these sites, this may be it! I personally try to stay off Facebook as much as I can as I can waste hours of time on there!
