I went to San Francisco for business last month, and I had an extra day before I had to fly back so I took a tour to AT&T Park, home of the San Francisco Giants. I saw the infamous Yahoo 404 error sign on the walls of the stadium. I wonder if whoever put Yahoo’s ad up at that location on the walls knew what a 404 error was :)

I also saw some fans standing guard waiting for a home run to be hit. I was there just at the right time because moments later during the practice, a home run was hit and they sprung into action launching their home-made baseball retrievers. The guy that I talked to (I forget his name, in the white hat) said that they have only about a minute or so to get the ball before it absorbs too much water and sinks. It looks like a pretty fun hobby :)

This was my second time in San Francisco, the last time I went was back in March. Its a great city to visit as there is so much history. The hotel I stayed at (Fairmont) was the only building left standing after the 1901 earthquake. It did however sustain a ton of damage when the fire that swept through the entire city reached it. The hallways of the hotel had a ton of pictures of the hotel back in 1901, and throughout the years. The hotel has been open for business for over 100 years now!

The Fairmont is also where the Governor of California, yep, Arnold Schwarzenegger, was staying when he was in town. Unfortunately I didn’t get to see him come in, but I did see all of his security staff and police escort (at least 30 SFPD officers on bike, bomb squad, 10 or so cruisers parked around the hotel).

I hope to visit again soon, so much to see and so little time! :)
