This post is a bit late, but like the old saying goes: “Better Late, Than Never!”. April was a significant month for Hate The Grind. While I did not hit all my goals, I did finally recieve a PageRank from Google. I know it doesn’t mean a whole heck of a lot, and PR4 is nothing to brag about but at least now I can give out some link love. I also recieved my first AuctionAds payment which is great since I just started it.

Numbers as of May 1, 2007:

PageRank: 4 (Goal was 3)
Alexa Ranking: 101,980 (Goal was 80,000)
Technorati Ranking: 121,605 (Goal was 100,000)

To stick with what I’ve been doing each month, I am going to set some new goals to hit by June 2007. While some people set up goals that are yearly, I prefer to set short term goals to keep me focused and motivated. I won’t include a new PageRank goal until closer to when I expect Google to update it as there is no point. Maybe by the next update I can actually be a PR9 blog? Yeah Right! :D

Alexa Ranking: 70,000
Technorati Ranking: 90,000

I think these goals are realistic and will strive towards them. If you don’t set goals for yourself when you start your new website or blog, you’ll be wandering aimlessly. Set some goals, and target dates and shoot for them. Goals can be set monthly like I do here, or they can be set with any time interval. The most important factor when setting up goals is a target date. Without a target date, your goal is nothing but wishful thinking.
