For those of you who were around back in 1999 on the internet, you may have heard of a company called AllAdvantage. In 1999, AllAdvantage was one of the first and pretty much the only large internet company that paid users to look at ads. The way it worked was quite simple, computer users like you and me would download the All Advantage toolbar and install it on our systems. The toolbar would sit on the screen either above or below your internet browser. While you surfed the internet like normal, it would display random advertising. Users of the AllAdvantage toolbar would get paid simply for running the toolbar. There was no need to click on any banners, or to sign up for any services. Unfortunately, the dot com bubble burst in 2001 taking along with it AllAdvantage, and thousands of other internet companies.

Agloco stands for A Global Community. The rebirth of AllAdvantage comes from a fully rebuilt toolbar, and new business plan. One thing I find weird is the name, I keep wanting to say algoco when I tell people about it.

The Agloco Viewbar will be a lot more powerful this time around. You may not be able to see in the picture but in addition to displaying ads, the viewbar will come packed with many useful features. It will have a instant messaging function, phishing site detector (sites that attempt to steal your info by masquerading as another legitimate website), spyware protection, and search functionality.

One big change that Agloco has made is that instead of paying you to surf on an hourly rate, you will earn a share of the revenue generated from the Agloco toolbar. AllAdvantage bled through a ton of money because they paid out more money than they brought in. This time around, by distributing shares of revenue, they will never pay out more than they make. There is a lot more potential to make some money here, and for a longer time as internet advertising spending is at an all time high and climbing year after year.
